Refrain
Go, tell it on the mountain,
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain,
That Jesus Christ is born.
While shepherds kept their watching
Over silent flocks by night
Behold throughout the heavens
There shone a holy light.
Refrain
The shepherds feared and trembled,
When lo! above the earth,
Rang out the angels chorus
That hailed the Savior’s birth.
Refrain
Down in a lowly manger
The humble Christ was born
And God sent us salvation
That blessèd Christmas morn.

Don't let the hair of the dog lead you straight unto your grave
This eternal cold front can make you misbehave
Even the snow wants someplace where it can go
To grab a bit of heat; we're turning into frozen meat
Baby, it's cold inside. Baby, it's cold inside.
(spoken Russian followed by) Get out!
Built for the weather, at least to some extent
We've got our freedom in this place but the weather is the rent
Cold mama, cold mama, knockin' at the door
Go ahead and open; it don't matter any more
Snow mama, snow mama
Come in, babe. Come in, babe.

Tracing tears through all our years
Following our prayers
In our hearts, the darkness seems to grow
Listening for hints of joy
Forgiveness seems beyond us
In our hearts, the darkest place we know
Do you hear the Christmas bells ringing out across this day?
Emmanuel - God Is With Us
Prophets join the angels as they sing across the void
Emmanuel - God Is With Us
A light has come into this world
That never will go out
A light has come into this world
That never dims and never will go out
And all your debts are paid
Rise anew and go your way with love
All your debts are paid
Rise anew and go your way with love
A light has come into this world
That never will go out
A light has come into this world
That never dims and never will go out
A light has come into this world
A light has come into this world
A light has come into this world
It never will go out

She decorates the house for Christmas
Stringing lights on all the trees
It’s 80 degrees
I don’t know why I have no spirit
It seems I haven’t got a clue
(Maybe I do)
This time of year once stood for something
It once confirmed what I believe
Am I naïve?
We sent the cards out to the family
I wonder if they feel the same way
The same as me
Don’t want to be the grownup
At least for just one day
I’m tired of the responsible way
They don’t know how much it costs
They don’t know how much has been lost
Sometimes I wish I could be selfish again
They never got to meet their Grandma
The way she always tried and tried
And then she died
The joys of winter all went with her
No pumpkins in the fall
No snowmen here at all
We throw our happiness on credit
There is so much we have to pay
It’ll be there ‘til May
I used to not be quite this jaded
Where did all the lightness go?
I miss it so
Don’t want to be the killjoy
Fearing the bottom line
Wish that I could go back in time
Don’t want to be the grownup
At least for just one day
I’m tired of the responsible way
They don’t know how much it costs
They don’t know how much has been lost
Sometimes I wish I could be selfish again

When you cried when you were born
Where you thinking of the crown of thorns
That would pierce your head when all the world was laughing
Did you know from the very start
Were you born with a broken heart
For a world to blind to see their Savior
Did you wake up in the middle of the night
with dreams of how it would end
Did your mother ever ask you why
Why you seemed preoccupied
And your hands always seemed to be shaking
Did you ever have any fun
Could you ever just kill the time
Or was every second a painful reminder
Every time you heard your dad pound the hammer down
Did it make you cringe at the thought
Did you ever want to run away
Did you ever get down on your knees and pray
Oh Father take this cup away
Held tightly in your mother's arms
Did you know you’d be rejected and despised

Secret Santa
She could work for the CIA
Maybe double for the KGB
She knows who killed Marilyn Monroe
And John F Kennedy
I asked if I could see her face
She said man don't you know
That document was sealed away
Many many years ago
My secret Santa
Works for the government
I don't even know her name
But she keeps bringing me presents
She knows if I've been good or bad
Says she doesn't need a warrant
My secret Santa
Works for the government
Now I start thinking of
All the things that she's done for me
Saying hey man watch your back
Keeping tabs on my family tree
And even though I love her so
I get this feeling that I just can't shake
What if she's setting me up
What if this is all a big mistake

Sometimes you think you see me
Sometimes may even hear
Santa’s milk and cookies
Have simply disappeared
I see you when you’re sleeping
You lie in bed awake
You thought that I would go
If you were good for goodness sake
You know I’m coming
Especially for you
Naughty is as naughty does
And I’m not Santa Claus
You may call me Krampus
My sack’s not filled with toys
I’ve room in mine
For all the really bratty girls and boys
That means there’s room for you too

I step into the night air of a Christmas Eve
I cry out from my spirit, "You are beautiful, beautiful!"
I think of everything You've ever done for me
With my final breath I will sing, "Beautiful, beautiful, Lord!"
